It is the purpose of this book to discuss a simple technique via Feynman path integral formulas in which the transformation to collective fields amounts to merechanges of integration variables in functional integrals. After the transformation, the path formulation will again be discarded. The resulting field theory is quantizedin the standard fashion and the fundamental quanta directly describe the collective excitations
