Twenty contributions explain the application of the computational methods of quantitative structure-activity relationships (QSARs) to risk management of environmental toxicity. Presented by Cronin (Liverpool John Moores U., UK) and Livingstone (U. of Portsmouth, UK), first describe basic methodology before presenting a range of QSARs for both human health endpoints, and environmental toxicity and fate. Three final chapters present examples of applications such as an approach to toxicity assessment based on the integrated use of non- animal tests and QSARs used by governmental regulatory agencies.
