While the date of pub. is 2006, this is a paperback replica of John Ninnemann's original 1988 version. Reading this in 2007 (almost 2008), is a look-back to 20 year-old history for anyone whose knowledge of immunolgy and pharmacology is well grounded in the 21st century.
Missing from this 1988 coverage on the prostaglandins are up-to-date understandings of their roles in lymphocyte activation, regulation, and differentiation. Additionally, elucidation of COX-1 and COX-2 as separate gene products didn't occur until 1988-1992, with COX-1 and -2 as distinctly regulated enzymes, unknown in 1988, and has been an important focus in pharmacology the past dozen or so years -- missing, of course, from this 2006 published book.
If you are looking for an up-to-date coverage of eicosanoids and their effects on the immune system, you need to look elsewhere.
