America's "War on Terrorism"

Apparently, Professor Michel Chossudovsky was the subject several years ago of a vicious attack by the Anti-Defamation League of B'nai B'rith. It seems that there had been material on a web site associated with Dr. Chossudovsky suggesting the possibility that there may have been Israeli involvement in the tragedy of "911". Notably, it also seems that Dr. Chossudovsky did not himself author said material. But the existence of this material associated with a public figure like Chossudovsky was enough for the ADL, which operates pretty much like the old Stalinist secret police. Chossudovsky was silenced. And we can see in reading his otherwise noteworthy book that this experience has weighed heavily on him since. Specifically policed out of this account is any mention whatsoever of Zionism, Israel, or the conflict in the Middle East, which is absolutely essential to understanding the black operation known as the American "War on Terror".

This book is deeply tarnished by the factors noted above. To its credit, the book does accurately depict CIA involvement in the creation of the enigmatic figure known to the world as Osama Bin Laden. And, like his colleagues at Global Research, Dr. Chossudovsky attributes much of the world's current woes to competition over naturual resources, such as petroleum and natural gas. No doubt, this explains some things. But it is equally certain that all is not explained by these factors. When Dr. Chossudovsky chose, due evidently to the previously mentioned harsh experience, to police out of his account the factors most dispositive of America's "War on Terrorism", he tragically compromised his effort. The writing is good. And the book is otherwise well done. But this calls to mind the story told about the man talking to Mary Todd Lincoln after the assassination of her husband at the Ford Theatre, which occured during the rendition of the play, "Our American Cousins":

"Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?"

In short, the book is sanitized and compromised. We cannot therefore honestly recommend it to those who would understand this very important subject. While we can certainly under Dr. Chossudovsky's position on this, we cannot commend it.
