Vitamins and Hormones, Volume 59
Gerald Litwack
This volume may be divided into three groups of contributors. The first five chapters deal with polypeptides: GnRG receptor and apoptotic signaling; structure and function of the growth hormone-releasing hormone receptor; regulators of growth hormone signaling; and the EGF domain--requirements for binding the receptors to the Erb-B family enkephalin-cell interaction. The next three manuscripts cover the steroid receptor gene family emphasizing structure, expression and action: studies on structure activity relationships of retinoic acid receptor ligands by means of molecular modelling; glucocorticoid-regulated gene expression during cutaneous wound repair; and dioxin action, hormone action and endocrine homeostasis. The final three chapters cover leptin receptors and vitamins: control of food intake via leptin receptors in the hypothalamus; Vitamin E and immunity; and Transcobalamin II and its cell surface receptor.
